A Day With Friends, Minnekhada Regional Park, and 'V The Priest'

Saturday, July 2, 2016.  A day with friends and another visit to Minnekhada Regional Park.

We connected with friends yesterday.  They dropped by around noon I think and then we drove over to Cora's in Coquitlam for a nice and healthy lunch before hitting the trails of Minnekhada.

Upon arriving in the park pretty much as we're getting out of the car we were told of, warned about bear sightings along the trails.  After chatting with the friendly folk and organising ourselves we were off.

Only a few minutes into leisurely stroll we spotted a couple of bears just off the intersection of two trails.  The bears were maybe 3 or 4 years old, not that I'm an expert and were quite skittish so they walked away from us and we from them.  After about five minutes of walking and snapping photos of the many waxwings flitting about we spotted the bears in the water across the marsh from us, shutters were speedily capturing images of the two bears frolicking in the water.  After our fill of watching the bears we were once again on our way.

We took in the limited view at Addington Lookout before wending our over and up to the High Knoll for a higher and more visible widespread view of the Pitt River and valley below.  We took photos and rested for a spell before making our way down with a pit stop to examine some slime mould sitting atop a tree stump.

Once we were back down to the main trail we head back to the parking lot that was about 2.3 km ahead of us.  Our pace slowed down to a snail's pace as we watched out for and avoided the hundreds of toadlets that scurried about and hopped along the trail...a challenging task with all us humans frequenting the trail, many of us unaware of these little guys underfoot.
On our drive back to the urban landscape another much larger crossed the road in front of us...a beautiful send off from the gift of nature...

Once arriving home we ordered up a bucket of fried chicken and all the fixings from Re-Up BBQ...delicious...and a couple of half sacks of beer to go along with it from the Paddlewheeler Pub  Liquor Store...those most certainly hit the spot.

Our friends departed around 9:30pm and after a quick clean up of dishes and showers, we enjoyed the Canada Day Fireworks set off by the city of New Westminster from the comfort of our balcony...then it was off to bed.

A bit of sleeplessness and a couple of odd dreams later I was up and at 'em and off to a park bench perched along the Fraser River here in New Westminster around 630am...

...pigeons, seagulls, and a lone crow welcome me to the park bench...as I arrived around 6:45 the Sun was shining brightly but has since been shrouded by the gray clouds that fill the sky.
Today's Tarot Card is “V The Priest: The best way to help others is to help them make their own decisions.  Wisdom.  Advice.  A ceremony or ritual.”
And today's Tarot Energy is all about “V The Priest" and helping others gain the knowledge, skills and self-confidence necessary for them to make their decisions.  Helping them understand that they alone must decide on the actions they must take in their own lives to change or improve their situations or circumstances.

Thank You Spirit.

Namaste.

'VI The Lovers', 'X The Wheel of Life' and Harnessing the Power of Childhood

Friday, July 1, 2016.

Happy Canada Day!  Our country is 149 years young this year.  Interestingly enough, Louis Riel floated through my mind as I reflected on what being Canadian means to me.  He fought for equal rights for the Métis and was hung for his efforts.  And 131 years later, we Métis are recognised as a distinct group of the First Nations people of Canada.  Louis Riel...

...I awoke late, and we awoke pretty much at the same time so I never made it down to my park bench along the river this morning so I'll try again tomorrow morning.  And if the weather continues to stay dry we'll be taking a walk through MINNEKHADA REGIONAL PARK later today with some friends so I'll be able to immerse myself in Nature...

Throughout my sleep, I occasionally found myself in a semi-conscious state where a voice kept on telling me that You are a Spiritual Guidance Counsellor, a person of spirit, so do not lose sight of this...

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is "VI The Lovers: A relationship is always a mingling of differences.  A powerful relationship.  Seeing both sides of an issue.  Flexibility” and “X The Wheel of Life: If life on the rim makes you dizzy, move to the centre. Awareness of the cycles of life. Equanimity. A change in fortunes. Guidance from your future or past self.”

"A powerful relationship, Seeing both sides of an issue", and "Guidance from your future or past self" are the dominant themes of today, at least for me.  Especially, the guidance that came from my future self as I slipped in and out of sleep last night.  And I know this to be true as the crows outside perched atop the power pole are indeed reaffirming my sentiments.

And reflecting again on what my Personality and Character Cards reveal of me I recognise, accept, understand that god is within and so I harness this inherent power and use it in bring forth out into the world my inner calling.  I hearken back to my childhood days of wonder and exploration of the world.  Doing my best to unlearn all that has closed me off from the amazing and miraculous world that is beyond adult sight because we're supposed to see the world in a certain way...

...be an adult they say...well I'm an adult but the world is full of creation, wonder, amazement and power that I want to see, that we all need to see...we are human animals, and are an inherent part of this world, an integral part of nature, especially if we understand and learn what are real roles are and should in this world of miracles.

Thank You Spirit.

Namaste.

0 The Fool and Learning to Believe in Myself and Trust My Heart

Sunday, June 1st, 2014.  I apparently have no desire to sleep in on the weekends as I am awake as early if not earlier than the time I have to get up on a work day.  But the “alone” this gives me is invaluable and so important to me that awaking early is what I’ll continue to do.

Thank You Spirit.

We had a great day yesterday.  We met up with some friends and then drove over to and hiked around Minnekhada Regional Park.  We stopped and had lunch on the High Knoll that overlooks the Pitt River and farms below.  A great place to stop, enjoy the view and recharge the spirit and rest before the return trip to the parking lot.

After our hike we drove back to New Westminster, parked our car at home and then walked over the Brooklyn Bar and Grill for a couple of drinks and two plates of their Macho Nachos.  After a couple of more hours of great conversation among friends we walked our friends to the transit station and said our goodbyes with hugs all around.

Thank You Spirit.

As I was getting myself a glass of water this morning I briefly experienced being in a van conversion.  As I pouring the water into my glass I had the distinct impression and image of being in a “my” van conversion.  I don’t own one but it is on my list of things to ponder but the experience maybe lasted for 3 or 4 seconds as I finally realized and got startled by the experience.  Crazy!

Thank you Spirit.

Spirit Is and today’s visiting Tarot Card is “0 The Fool: Accepting and exploring one's sexual identity is a journey of self-discovery. Beginning a new and exciting venture.  Going beyond the limits of social convention.  A non-conformist.”
As I read, pondered and looked at the card I felt and had the sense that this was about me checking in my immaturity at the door so I can believe in myself, trust my heart, and take a not so blind leap of faith and start my own spiritual business.  I feel a strong need to do this, this is not simply a whim, desire, dream, or goal, it is a need I have to fulfill.

Thank You Spirit.

Blessed Be.
