A Day With Friends, Minnekhada Regional Park, and 'V The Priest'

Saturday, July 2, 2016.  A day with friends and another visit to Minnekhada Regional Park.

We connected with friends yesterday.  They dropped by around noon I think and then we drove over to Cora's in Coquitlam for a nice and healthy lunch before hitting the trails of Minnekhada.

Upon arriving in the park pretty much as we're getting out of the car we were told of, warned about bear sightings along the trails.  After chatting with the friendly folk and organising ourselves we were off.

Only a few minutes into leisurely stroll we spotted a couple of bears just off the intersection of two trails.  The bears were maybe 3 or 4 years old, not that I'm an expert and were quite skittish so they walked away from us and we from them.  After about five minutes of walking and snapping photos of the many waxwings flitting about we spotted the bears in the water across the marsh from us, shutters were speedily capturing images of the two bears frolicking in the water.  After our fill of watching the bears we were once again on our way.

We took in the limited view at Addington Lookout before wending our over and up to the High Knoll for a higher and more visible widespread view of the Pitt River and valley below.  We took photos and rested for a spell before making our way down with a pit stop to examine some slime mould sitting atop a tree stump.

Once we were back down to the main trail we head back to the parking lot that was about 2.3 km ahead of us.  Our pace slowed down to a snail's pace as we watched out for and avoided the hundreds of toadlets that scurried about and hopped along the trail...a challenging task with all us humans frequenting the trail, many of us unaware of these little guys underfoot.
On our drive back to the urban landscape another much larger crossed the road in front of us...a beautiful send off from the gift of nature...

Once arriving home we ordered up a bucket of fried chicken and all the fixings from Re-Up BBQ...delicious...and a couple of half sacks of beer to go along with it from the Paddlewheeler Pub  Liquor Store...those most certainly hit the spot.

Our friends departed around 9:30pm and after a quick clean up of dishes and showers, we enjoyed the Canada Day Fireworks set off by the city of New Westminster from the comfort of our balcony...then it was off to bed.

A bit of sleeplessness and a couple of odd dreams later I was up and at 'em and off to a park bench perched along the Fraser River here in New Westminster around 630am...

...pigeons, seagulls, and a lone crow welcome me to the park bench...as I arrived around 6:45 the Sun was shining brightly but has since been shrouded by the gray clouds that fill the sky.
Today's Tarot Card is “V The Priest: The best way to help others is to help them make their own decisions.  Wisdom.  Advice.  A ceremony or ritual.”
And today's Tarot Energy is all about “V The Priest" and helping others gain the knowledge, skills and self-confidence necessary for them to make their decisions.  Helping them understand that they alone must decide on the actions they must take in their own lives to change or improve their situations or circumstances.

Thank You Spirit.

Namaste.

The '10 of Vessels, Happiness' and How to Keep It Around

Sunday, September 6th, 2015.  We decided to go for a hike yesterday morning and got on the Bunzten Lake Trail around 11 to 11:30am.  It was great being out in nature, the ground was damp, the lake overflowing but the air was cool, fresh, clean and cleansing.  Nearing the other end of the lake we ran into a couple of friends coming from the other way.  We chatted for a bit before going our separate ways.  As our friends did we decided to turn around neat the end of the lake foregoing a complete walk around the lake as it was after 12:30 and our tummies were asking for food.  We were in the car and on the road and soon at our chosen eatery, Cora's in no time at all.

After satiating our hunger we hit Real Canadian Superstore and completed our weekly grocery shopping before heading home do complete few chores and then relaxed and talked about what to do during our next week of vacation in early October.

So after some discussion and a great suggestion from the partner we've decided to hit the west coast of Vancouver Island for that week with maybe a quick detour to the Pemberton area so we can finally do the Joffre Lakes hike we've talked about for years.  Tofino, Long Beach, Ucluelet, and Pacific Rim National Park are on the radar screen for our stay.  Having said that though, I think we'll be staying near Tofino at the Bella Pacifica Campground or possibly the Crystal Cove Resort.  Bella Pacifica is likely the spot as it remains to be a more natural setting than the coiffed look of the resort and even though it's in a more natural state full hookups are available and this is what we want for our RV camping adventure.

It being such a happy, carefree and loving day yesterday I awoke feeling the same way and today's visiting Tarot reflects this, "Ten of Vessels, Happiness: With the deep and profound calm of true and lasting happiness flowing through your life, a sense of homecoming, safety and beauty shines from an individual that lights others' lives and is infectious to everyone.  Healing rays of affection and warmth radiate from your inner core.  For those in love, the joy is in the sharing of tender and intimate support and understanding.  Giving love and seeing that love reflected in the eyes of the one you care for is the most powerful and healing magic known to mankind.  For those who thrive on happiness derive from the fulfillment of ambitions and life-goals, happiness is fueled by a sense of affirmation of self-worth and ideals.  Being effective and productive in the practical world brings a sense of stability which can be shared and used as a vehicle to motivate and inspire others.  No greater act of humanity can be achieved than by showing the way and opening a person's heart to the possibility of happiness.  However much we love, however much we achieve, we empower ourselves to be emotionally alive by accepting that the circuit of life requires giving, as well as receiving.  As we revel in the bliss of the journey, we remember with gratitude the patience, wisdom, and synchronicity that brought that blessing into our lives."

We must always remember that the true fountain of happiness rises from within us.  Lasting happiness will only come from the very core of our being.  Don't seek it outside of yourself for it will only be fleeting and lead to disappointment and a continual search for its fleeting and temporary existence.  Happiness from within is attained from being true to yourself and will radiate to all that cross your path.

Thank You Spirit.

Blessed Be.

The "4 of Coins" and I SURRENDER

Sunday, March 2nd, 2014.  The Moon moves into Aries this morning and it is Sunday - ARIES: Good for starting things, but lacks staying power. Things occur rapidly; but quickly pass. People tend to be argumentative and assertive.  And - SUNDAY (SUN): Healing, spirituality, success, strength, and protection .

Yesterday morning I joined my brother and a couple of friends for breakfast at Cora’s in Surrey and as always I enjoyed my meal.  I had their breakfast Panini and as always it came with a generous serving of fruit.  I also had a strawberry and banana smoothie so I think I hit my daily fruit and vegetable intake quite well.  Then it was a day staying at home with only a brief outing to renew the car insurance for another year and have our mid-afternoon coffee at Tre Galli in the River Market.  Then I simply enjoyed our quiet evening at home.  I had a great night’s sleep with dreams filled with family and friends.  Although I awoke a few times I was happy to bring my dreams into my conscious and put a smile on my face.

Thank You Spirit.

Spirit Is and today’s visiting Tarot Card is the “4 of Coins: The Lighting Director.  A position of power.  Wanting to control how others perceive things.”

I need to learn to go with the flow more as well as truly chase after my dreams.  I’m sure if it came from the blog I was reading last night however something I read hit home with me.  My dreams do fill me with fear so I how am I going to work through this fear and go out and pursue and live out my dreams.  What must I do to punch through this fear and forge ahead with my dreams?  I know deep down that I have the skills and talent to do this so why am I not doing it?

Blocked change for one.  Not only am I experiencing blocked change in the work place I’m suffering from blocked change that I’ve brought upon myself.  I need to give up control and go with the flow.  Spirit, the cosmos, the universe, the goddess and the god and even Tarot are telling how to live my dreams but I’m failing to recognize the messages they are sending my way because I’m wanting to have too much control.

I SURRENDER!

Thank You Spirit.

Blessed Be.
