Sunday, July 31, 2016. We picked up our new friends visiting from Spain around 10am before heading out to give them a quick tour of UBC. Then we decided to explore the neighbourhood of Kitsilano as they wanted to try some Asian food so we walked around until just after noon before making our way to the Peaceful Restaurant, a place we know well and the food met our friend's expectations and seal of approval. A quick stop for a coffee and then we were on our way to go explore a bit of the north shore specifically, Lighthouse Park, Whytecliff Park, and Horseshoe Bay.
As always, the parks offered up their stunning natural beauty and surroundings. Horseshoe did the same and as time was still available to us we made the last minute decision to hop on the ferry to provide our friends with a quick glimpse of Bowen Island. We each had treat and chatted more as we soaked up our surroundings waiting for the next ferry back to the mainland.
The day was full and almost complete so we headed back to downtown Vancouver to drop our friends off however they wanted to hang out for a bit more so we made our way up to Robson Street and soon found ourselves sitting on the sidewalk patio of Abode. My partner having not consumed our entirely huge lunch were peckish so had a quick meal with our glasses of Stanley Park Pilsner. We again enjoyed more time and conversation with our friends as we watched the masses head over to English Bay to catch the final evening of Honda's Celebration of Light as put on by the US via Disney.
With drinks and food complete we walked our friends back to their place and headed home for quick showers, a bit of relaxing before crawling into bed.
Today's Tarot Energy is the "Nine of Swords: Our Witch is having one of those mercilessly sleepless nights. Every worry and concern presses down on her. The weight of the world prevents her from relaxing in any way. Nor is she being productive...all the crying in the world won't solve any of her problems. It's likely that you may find yourself having a sleepless night or two. Be aware that this kind of unproductive worry doesn't solve anything. You are fully capable of handling these things that are bothering you. As soon as you do, you'll enjoy restful sleep again."
I've had some sleepless nights and know exactly why. I need to take care of a few things with the faith and knowledge that not only do I have means to do it but that Spirit has my back, if you will. One is to get Serenity repaired, the second is to park her here, closer to home and stick my new door magnets on her, and three is to expand and solidify my online presence.
With some distance between the thoughts of those sleepless nights, my mind is more clear and I'm more capable of discerning and understanding the messages they have for me. This is all about having a solid and underlying experience based faith and knowledge that I'm on the right track and that it's high time that I started to fully and completely fulfill my purpose in life.
And besides, retiring in 2016 keeps filling my mind...such strong energy...

Saturday, July 30, 2016. It's been such a hot week that we decided to hit the beach yesterday after work. I met my partner down at Wreck Beach around 6 o'clock. We relaxed and soaked up the sun and energy that Wreck Beach has to offer for about an hour and a half before calling it quits as some other beach goers decided that everyone wanted to listen to their loud music...uh, no! But I was getting pretty darned hungry so it was time to go although we made a quick stop at another more secluded beach to take in a last bit of sun before find a place for dinner...the setting sun looked amazing and really highlighted some of the scenery around the beach.
We decided on White Spot in Kerrisdale for dinner as it was on the way home and besides I was hungry. We both ordered from their 'Celebrate BC' menu, each of us opting for the Legendary Burger, Caesar Salad and Fresh BC Blueberry Pie. Same great taste as always. Going to White Spot at least once after a day at the beach is somewhat of a tradition for us and the 'Celebrate BC' menu has been around for ages. And the dishes offered on the menu have remained fairly consistent throughout the years and you are guaranteed to enjoy each of them year after year!
We arrived home around ten o'clock, got ourselves showered before relaxing a spell and then crawling into bed. I slept rather well and crawled out of bed around 6 and decided not to go out and sit on a park bench this morning as we're heading out this morning to meet up with some new friends.
Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is the "Initiate of Wands: The suit of Wands and it's corresponding element, Fire, is passionate and dedicated to the task at hand, so a mature man with red hair represents this initiate. He wears a long orange robe, yellow stole, and two necklaces. He holds a ritual and bundle of smudging herbs, ready to hand to his priest for ritual use. A fire burns nearby and a modest basket of flowers and herbs are at hand. This Initiate can be a person full of energy always seeking a new project to help with and who loves activity for its own sake. If public admiration comes along with it, that's okay with him. He should be careful to keep his ego and desire for advancement in check lest he lose sight of his true goals."
I'm often "a person full of energy always seeking a new project to help with and who loves activity for its own sake" and I must "be careful to keep" my "ego and desire for advancement in check lest" I "lose sight of" my "true goals."
And as I contemplate where I want to take my life and why I want to go in this direction I truly believe and can say without a shadow of a doubt that I'm doing so more others than myself. I firmly believe that many us need to be spiritually awakened and if I can somehow help in this regard whether directly or indirectly then I fulfill my purpose and make a positive difference in an often weary and pessimistic world.
And as a part of this I'm exploring as many possibilities that I can to reach people and make a difference. I have a blog, a twitter account, and Instagram account, a small facebook presence business cards, and mobile advertising via car door magnets. My newest addition will also be about making my presence known online...more to come on this later.
Time to go and meet up with our new friends of ours want to hang out today, so off we go...
