The '10 of Wands', Watching a Historic Vancouver Pride Parade and Sitting on a Park Bench

Monday, August 1, 2016.  Wishing Everyone a Bountiful and Happy Lammas!

We headed out mid-morning yesterday to meet-up with some friends to catch all or just some of the Vancouver Pride Parade.  We only stayed for a couple of hours and I'm glad we did as my emotions were getting the better of me for some reason.  Between seeing the walking throughout the parade honouring the victims of the Orlando shooting and seeing the Prime Minister walking in the parade with his family filled me with tears of sadness and many tears of joy!  I loved seeing the Prime Minister in the parade, the first Canadian Prime Minister to walk in Vancouver's Pride Parade and to do so with his young family only made it that much better!
Our hunger was getting the better of us so we walked away from the parade and found ourselves on Granville Street chowing down at "The Mexican Antojitos y Cantina".  Great food as always but the service was seriously lacking though not reflective of our previous visits.  Then it was a quick walk over to "Small Victory" on Homer Street for coffee and pastries.  And then after a quick visit to "Masc" for me to get some different moustache wax we parted company with our friends and headed home making a quick stop at "Bed Bath and Beyond" to pick up a birthday gift for another friend.

We made it home as afternoon turned into evening not bad for what seemed like a full day of activities.  Arriving home at 5:30 was great.  Gave us the entire evening to relax and chill at home.  I did a whole of nothing only stopping such laziness to have quick bite and grab a shower then I wasted a couple of hours watching a terrible movie, "Sharknado: The 4th Awakens".  But I must admit I was switching channels and watching bits and pieces of the 1978 movie, "Invasion of the Body Snatchers"

And amazingly, I was not falling asleep as usual, around 9:30pm as I didn't crawl into bed until 11pm...

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is the “10 of Wands: The Burden.  Responsibilities.  Obligations.  Overcommitting yourself.  Realizing that burdens are a part of life.”
Shortly after 7 this morning I made my way down to the park benches line up along the river parking myself on the bench nearest Westminster Pier Park where the fence is becoming home to dozens of "love locks" that are mimicking the locks on the bridges over the Seine River in Paris.  And where as well a small garden is growing as people have brought down planters and pots filled with what maybe their favourite or simply leftover plants.  I found myself on a bench that was framed by two beautiful planters filled with blooming flowers being pollinated by dozens of bees...beautiful and stunning under the rising sun!

"Responsibilities.  Obligations."  My responsibilities and obligations are to my family, my partner, and all of the people out there in search of guidance, answers and spiritual awakening.  And by "Realizing that burdens are a part of life" we in a sense neutralize them and turn them into learning experiences and building up our knowledge and wisdom of and in life.  We become clearer in what we need in life and how best to make it happen.

The “10 of Wands" is a great reminder that life will have ups and downs and the best way to deal with them is to realize and accept that they are a part of life and our best course of action is to deal with them head on.

Thank You Spirit.

Namaste.
