The "4 of Wands" and Realising How Far We've Come

Beautiful snow covered mountains come into view as we're driving down the road, perhaps even a city street as houses or small buildings block the view on occasion.  Sitting at the dining room table, I'm conducting a Tarot Reading for someone over Skype and I'm wearing a hat that I have yet to create...it's all about social media comes to mind...dreams...

Spirit Is and today's Gay Tarot Energy is the “4 of Wands: Setting the Stage.  Opening night finally arrives.  A venture has been established.  Celebrating initial achievements."

We need to take step back, admire what we've accomplished so far and then sit down for a short rest to let it all sink in.  We've perhaps come a long way, moving farther along than we thought we could but here we are.  Enjoy the moment as there's more work ahead of us.

XX Beyond Judgement, Not Judging Myself Allows Healing and Transformation

Interesting dreams about being dressed in black and white and walking out onto a stage as well as being dressed in my gray dress shirt over which I have my brown vest which are dressing up the pair of jeans I'm wearing.  I see myself also wearing and not wearing a hat that matches my vest.  Both of these scenes played out after I struggled and finally accepted the fact in another dream that I quit my job and walked away from all of my financial obligations...it was a tough dream yet the words "fresh start" kept flashing through my mind.  Then I heard myself answering my phone blurting out my new tag line to prospective clients.  The world of dreams...

Spirit Is and today's Gay Tarot Energy is “XX Beyond Judgement: Self-acceptance must come before liberation.  Freedom from others’ expectations. Trying to make conditions better for others.  Altruism.  Pride. Self-acceptance.”

"Trying to make conditions better for others" is my ultimate goal and I see myself doing this through the world of Tarot and not at the job I'm currently at but through working for myself, not solely for myself but for Spirit and all those wanting to find answers to their questions through the magical, mystical, and mysterious world of Tarot and the world beyond.  I accept all of myself that I see and don't whether good or bad and throw it all to Spirit thus opening myself up to healing and transformation for I judge no one, not even myself.

Reading an article in Sage Woman magazine prompted me to use the Shaman Tarot this morning and as I was working with the cards, doing a three card spread filled my mind.

Card For the Day: "XII Initiation: The sacrifice of a part of oneself in favour of the world of the spirits.  Necessary moments of pause.  Reflection.  A new vision of things."

A time for stillness and reflection, with mind, body, and spirit open to receive a new vision of things.  A new vision of things as in how to deal with a current hiccup (control of finances/debt) in life that we may be dealing before we can or feel we can move on.

Attend to This: "XVIII The Moon of Illusion: The world under the waters, the dark parallel reality.  The realm of the unconscious.  Illusions and uncertainties.  Ambiguity.  The world of dreams.  Visions."

We must keep our minds in check and be on the lookout for illusions masquerading as true visions as it is a bit of an ambiguous day in terms of the energy swirling about us.  Our dreams could off a glint of what actions we need to take or who or where can go for help and/or advice.

What to Look Out For: "0 The Sacred Fool: He who is touched by the spirits.  The traveller of the spiritual world.  Freedom.  The melting away of material ties.  Flowing."

True visions and real and much needed advice from people, nature, spirit or even books and magazines can lead to doorways and/or new paths to freedom gained through the relinquishing of material ties.  Letting go of our physical possessions as in breaking free of the power they hold over us, the power we gave them leads us to a new way of being that allows to flow freely through this world as well as the world of spirits.  Such freedom to flow and travel in such a way strengthens our communication with spirits that empowers us to become much greater than what we think we can be, becoming much greater than ourselves.

Today's Gay Tarot Energy is and I am “IV The Emperor: Sometimes one must be a benevolent despot.  Organization.  Taking charge.  An authority figure.  Utilizing discipline to provide a structure for creativity.”

"Utilizing discipline to provide a structure for creativity” is what we all must do and what I must do for myself today.  I need to dedicate time to and focus some good energy on fine-tuning my tarot specialty so that I, through the gift, guidance, and love of Spirit provide the best spiritual and tarot services to those who are drawn to or seek out the services I provide.  I want to do this through the grace and presence of Spirit within me so that it comes not from me but the infinite love, strength and presence of Spirit that is dwells in this world and all that is beyond.

"Taking charge" in this case is for me about taking charge of our lives and being "a benevolent despot" to ourselves more than it is about being "An authority figure" over others.  This tarot energy is all about have full control over ourselves today.

XIV Temperance and Challenging Ourselves to Change Before We are Forced to Change

Fine-tuning my business took up most of my evening last night.  I'm trying to be more of a specialist in terms of the tarot services I offer and I think I've found my niche and feel very comfortable with it.  Tarot reading, interpretation, intuition, energy play, etc. has always been top of my mind for me ever since I picked my first deck of tarot cards from the Chapter's bookstore in the Metrotown Mall back in 1999/2000, Aleister Crowley's Thoth Deck.  The gift of Tarot has opened my eyes, my heart, my mind and my spirit to all the wonders of this world and all of existence.  What a gift it is to be alive to experience it all!

Spirit Is and today's Gay Tarot Energy is and I am “XIV Temperance: Mix things up a little.  Combining separate elements to create something new.  Moderation (not too much of each flavour).  Flexibility.”

Going outside or thinking outside the box is my first thought about today's “XIV Temperance".  Then coming up with something new came to mind, followed by throwing out old ideas and modes of thinking.  This lead to thinking about finding new ways and having a willingness to change.  Then mixing different flavours and creating a new one came to mind.  My analogy for this is how bad an black and overripe banana tastes at least in my opinion but then how wonderful it tastes when you make a loaf of banana bread.  We also need to challenge ourselves to go beyond our comfort zones.  My final thought is of accepting that change will happen and that we must decide whether or not we will welcome it by being proactive and willing participants in this change or be dragged kicking and screaming by it.

The choice is ours...change is very much at hand and this is change that must come from within ourselves!

VI The Lovers Grow Out of Compromise, Understanding, Caring and Love

Very relaxed evening last night as I watched an enhanced tarot reading by a gentleman that works as a intuitive tarot reader in Hollywood.  Then I fell asleep for about twenty minutes with the Shaman Tarot in my hands as I again relaxed in bed before falling asleep...hahaha...then I had an odd dream last night where an app came to life, everything from this app was life size and the many characters came to life...fun!

Spirit Is and today's Gay Tarot Energy is and I am "VI The Lovers: A relationship is always a mingling of differences.  A powerful relationship.  Seeing both sides of an issue.  Flexibility.”

Boundaries, rules, and how necessary are they in a relationship and how rigid or flexible should they be?  Compromise seems to an absolute necessity when it comes to growing and strengthening any relationship.  Boundaries and rules should be more about an understanding of each partner and what they want, need, and give from and to a relationship.  From Compromise and understanding comes a strong bond and genuine love and caring for each other.

The Guide of Coins, Embracing Our Nature-ness and Witnessing Magic In Our Lives

Getting back into a regular gym routine is doing wonders for me.  I'm feeling better, less moody, eating healthier, and rebuilding muscle mass.  I even think that I'm looking better too!

Last night I know I had dreams and awoke once or twice remembering the dreams but they faded deep into my memory banks, I suppose.  Driving on a road in the van kind of rings a bell as do images of the Pagan and Shaman Tarot decks.  As I  was relaxing in bed for what I thought would simply be a couple of minutes holding these two decks I soon found myself awaking five or ten minutes later with the decks still in my hands.

Spirit Is and today's Gay Tarot Energy is the “Guide of Coins: Seeing the magic in the mundane.  Spiritual fulfillment from nature.  Finding joy in the ordinary.”

Hugging trees and desiring more time out in nature filled my mind as this card revealed himself this morning.  Watching the crows fly overhead this morning before heading into the job made me want to follow them so I could sit amongst them and just be.  Speaking of crows here are photos of my purchase a few weeks back: crows on a wire and a city crows calendar.

Nature is flowing through my veins these days.  As I think of nature I think of awaking in the morning inside of a cold van wrapped in layers of winter blankets.  I or we are parked on a street or in a campground somewhere all to fulfill my or our desire to be out in nature as much as possible.

Nature is magic and I am, we are nature and when we embrace our nature-hood or nature-ness, magic happens, happens in our lives!

"VII The Chariot" with One Foot in Front of the Other Spirit Moves Us Forward

We had another relatively lazy day yesterday.  We did our weekly grocery run, had a quick walk over to the quay to grab lunch and buy a few things for a future weekend lunch.  Mid to late afternoon a friend dropped by for a quick visit, staying ling enough that we decided to head out for dinner after he left.

I had what I thought was a good night's sleep but awoke feeling sleepy and somewhat tired.  Memories of my dreams are vague if not really forgotten...more gatherings of people seemed to be one aspect of my dreams then I was dreaming about a job related co-worker and our need to race through an alleyway in order to find a product of sorts, maybe milk or something similar.  And now that I'm writing this, Tarot Readings come to mind as well as travelling and camping.

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is "VII The Chariot: Among the highs and lows of life, make sure you enjoy the highs.  At the top of one's game.  Seizing an opportunity.  Having everything under control (barely)."

Although, we may have everything barely under control we find success with today's Tarot Energy, Spirit is full behind in all that we do whether in thoughts, words, or actions.  Life is to be enjoyed as best we can and this in itself is a success.  Spirit wants us to succeed especially when we are living purposely and with the best interest of all at heart.  Be all that you wish to be today and let Spirit carry you forward as you put one foot in front of the other as you walk or run toward the success that is moving from dream to reality for you.

The "II of Pentacles" and Letting Go of Something to Bring In Something New

We stayed in until late afternoon as we simply wanted to relax before heading downtown to meet some friends for dinner Glowbal before taking in the performance of the ballet troupe, Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

Dinner was as good as the conversation always is however we had an early dinner reservation so we strolled a little before going into the Hudson's Bay to do a little window shopping on the men's floor.  We made our way to the theatre and sat back and enjoyed the lively an entertaining performances of the all male cast as they did snippets from Swan Lake, their own contemporary work, La Esmeralda, and Don Quixote.  The audience loved it, clapping, cheering, hooting, and two standing ovations at the end of the performance.  We first say this group down in Seattle, Washington four years ago as they never seemed to come up to Vancouver.

Spirit Is and today's Whimsical Tarot Energy is and I am the "II of Pentacles: Let go of something old in preparation for new opportunities.  Keep your ears tuned to alternative business proposals.  Brainstorm with peers, explore teamwork.  When reversed: Reflect carefully about your motives before dealing with people.  Act with integrity and you’ll be sure to find success in all your endeavors."

I let go of my job as well as my supposed need for possessions such as my camper van in order to make way for new opportunities.  My ears are spiritually tuned to hear, receive and listen for and to new business proposals.  I'm ready to move with Spirit.  I'm having no fun with the job I have and desire something more meaningful and spiritual where I am true to myself and my authentic self as charming and/or prickly as I can be where my integrity is not being challenged day to day.

The Shaman Tarot's "IX The Seeker of Souls"

After watching "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children" I went to bed feeling peculiar, thinking about peculiarities, oddities, the strange and unfamiliar and found myself fast asleep and in a whole new world.  My thoughts were about re-opening my eyes to all of the world that is out there but that moves beyond our adulthood sight because it just possible can't be real and can only exist in childhood fantasy.  But it does exist and many of us see it in one form or another.  It's just hard to talk about it or bring it to light without often being labelled in unflattering terms.

Spirit Is and after settling into a more pure state of being the Shaman Tarot was in my hands and today's Tarot Energy is and I am "IX The Seeker of Souls: The solitary wayfarer, he who silently probes the souls of the World.  Wisdom and experience.  Detachment.  An old master."

Now I understand something about myself as reading this is an apt description of what I feel like I do on a daily basis, "he who silently probes the souls of the World."  And I feel like I being told that I need to practice more "Detachment" in order to do more in and with my spiritual life and career.

Solitude, communing with spirits and detachment are the overlying energies of this day.  So let's all put these into practice and see where the day takes us.

"IX The Hermit" and Finding Solitude to Gain Perspective and Feed Your Spirit and Heal Your Soul

Gatherings, parties, lots of people, many conversations taking place are what I remember from my sleep last night.  Oh, and waiting for something to be ready for a woman that seemed to have some importance amongst all these other people.

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is and I am “IX The Hermit: To fully understand something, sometimes you must escape it.  Gaining perspective.  Solitude.  Study.”

Gaining perspective is what I suggested to do yesterday when the "8 of Swords" dropped by for a visit and here we are being asked to gain even more perspective.  And why not?  Each day is unique and full of new energy that we have to interact with so perspective is everything.  I might being having an aha moment here...hhhmmm..."To fully understand something, sometimes you must escape it" eh?  What do I need to or what should I escape, is the question...and I likely already know the answer if it's what I need to do.  Study is also top of mind for me so I must get more serious about and do it with the mindset of a student studying in a college or university.  With highlighter, pen, and notebook in hand I need to get reading and get working on my studies...spirit, tarot, mystical realms, intuition, psychic sight, counselling and so on.  All inter-related I must say.

I must say though that for me it is great to be alone on occasion as a bit of solitude can do wonders for the soul.

The "8 of Swords" and Feeling at Odds with the World

Cannot remember my dreams as even when I was aware that I was dreaming the dreams were very vague and blurry.  Groups of people is all that I can remember.

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is and I am the "8 of Swords: The Crowded Subway. Restriction.  Being trapped by your own biases and prejudices.  Feeling lonely in a crowd.”

Feeling alone and like you don't belong?  Asking yourself if this is the world you really you live? And is it really so bad?  I would suggest that it's time for you to find perspective and your place in a world that seems so at odds with you!  You can do this by engaging with Spirit, allowing Spirit to guide and help you find ways to become an important and integral part of this world that we all get to share.

"I The Magician" and Being Thankful for the Life I'm Living Right Now and Simply Adding To It

Odd dreams last night one of which had separate scenes yet seemed to be connected.  I had the car in the shop and not the usual place but at the local Ford dealer.  For some reason I had to or picked up the car for some reason and parked it on a road that didn't appear to be all that far away but was a muddy dirt and gravel road where the sides were heaped with a mixture of mud and snow.  I parked the car facing uphill and then found myself walking up the side of the muddy road and stepped in puddle of mud with my black shoes.  This is where I saw a person that I used to see every day when I took transit and worked at another job.  He was with a friend and was carrying a dog.  They walked onto a hiking trail.  I then found myself walking up what I imagined was a piece of art but then I jumped off of it and back onto the road which suddenly transformed itself into a city street.  I was looking for my partner and a friend or perhaps an acquaintance of ours.  In another snippet of a dream I was once again talking if only to myself, giving a lecture perhaps, a travelling lecture as I felt like I was on a journey of sorts.

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is and I am "I The Magician: To live fully, one must create a life, not merely react to it.  Creativity.   Ability.  Making something happen.”

Creativity and creative energy and power are running high today so it's time to get creating the life you most desire.  Interestingly, as I was driving today I was struck with the thought I'm still quite where I need to be in really knowing my true desires...I'm getting closer and am very close, standing at the threshold but not quite ready to cross it.  Then images of RV's and travelling filled my mind.  I've always want to write and travel and this is not at all much different than wanting to be a Spiritual Guidance Counsellor or Tarot Card Reader at all.  In fact, I'm writing right this very moment, right now!

My writing and interpreting of Tarot is my creativity.   Being spiritual, seeking guidance through spirit and tarot, writing a blog, having a website as well as advertising materials such as business cards and car door magnets is creating a life...my lie and I'm living it right now, in the here and now, at the this very present moment.  How lucky am I.  I am truly blessed.

So for the most part I've created and am living the majority of the way I want to live my life but need to come up with more powerful ways and energy and directing it with precision focus to be true to my most passionate desires and that is to earn a living from what I'm doing right this very minute, blogging and talking about today's Tarot Energy.  Further expanded to include Tarot Card Reading for clients, spiritual guidance for those who seek it out and writing about the world of spirit, tarot and the mystical realms through my eyes and maybe capture a photo and video or two along the way.

The Ace of Swords and Using a Good Dose of Willpower

A group of people filled my mind as I slept and at some point I was walking back and forth talking in a classroom, I suppose but then I found myself walking on a trail in a forest, a lovely forest so full of life and energy that I forgot where I was and simply took it all in...life was everywhere, and it was amazing to see, feel, hear, and be a part of.  I was not an intruder or an outsider, I was a part of the forest and all the activities going on there.

Then as the serenading alarm neared I practised meditating and lost myself in the purity of existence...

...hhhmmm...I'm a little bit perplexed by this “Ace of Swords" as I'm hoping that I'm not merely spinning my wheels and going nowhere fast because my goal is simple, quit my current job and dedicate myself full-time to assisting people with their spiritual needs through spiritual guidance counselling and tarot card readings.  However, a new idea might not be a bad thing either so I'll just fill my mind with the passions I have of helping people and us my willpower to get it out there in the energetic realm and bring it all into existence with the help of all that pure energy out there ready and willing to help me...no more debts and everyday spent offering my assistance to those who need a little bit help in the world of spirit.

The 5 of Cups and Learning From Regret Instead of Dwelling On It

I thought I'd remember my dreams last night but those memories have escaped me...oh, they came back.  I was dealing with clients and shooting videos I do believe...oh, they've slipped away again...I do know that upon awaking not long before the alarm I felt quite happy with myself.  I'm positive that I was feeling good about the dreams I had...being debt free, teaching, talking, and interacting with a variety of people as I had Tarot Cards in hand and my newfangled hat on my head...my very own creation...I think I felt very free and unencumbered by anything.

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is and I am the “5 of Cups: The Aftermath.  Regret over past actions.”

Regret is an opportunity for learning and is not something that we should dwell on.  We need to accept what happened and do what we can to make things better if it's within our power to do so then move on.  Such a time as this should also be used for introspection, reflection, and making a commitment to do our due diligence and think, plan, prepare, decipher and whatever else we can to make our decision-making efforts easier.  Have we thought of everything and are we prepared for whatever consequences that may come as result of our actions--good or bad.  Think long and hard before we speak or act is advice we all need to heed.

The "7 of Wands" and Ending the Struggle with Myself and Accepting Spirits Gifts and Blessings

Dreams about the birthday party we attended last night, specifically around the discussion we were having about movies and if I remember correctly Tarot Cards were also drifting through the air, if not in my mind only.

Mid-afternoon we were celebrating the life of a friend who passed away a week before Christmas.  It was a nice affair and I was brought to tears as several people mentioned my brother and his selfless act of taking care of this much loved woman for eleven months as she transitioned from this life into the next, he essentially put his life on hold.

We also had lunch on Commercial Drive at Havana, quite enjoyed lunch, we strolled along the drive shopping for a birthday card and gift for our friend and revisiting a store so I could further contemplate the purchase of a piece of art, which I did, metalwork that features nine crows.  This was at the Doctor Vigari Gallery.

And between the one celebration and the next we stopped off at Park Royal to grab a coffee and pastry at Eve, cute eatery tucked away in Simons and then to grab some savoury finger food for the birthday party.

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is and I am the “7 of Wands: Fighting the wind.  A Quixotic struggle.  Winning against the odds.  Confrontation.”

As this current moon wanes and disappears before becoming a New Moon again so too does my current job end so that I can then start fresh with my new spiritual career as Spiritual Guidance Counsellor and Tarot Card Reader, acting as an intermediary for the grand Spirit of life.  My quixotic struggle is mostly with myself and accepting myself for who I am  as well as accepting the gifts of blessings of Spirit in my life such as the need to embark on this spiritual career.   And so this how I am winning against the odds for now instead of betting against myself I betting for myself and willing, able, and capable of handling the spiritual career that Spirit is bestowing upon me this day.

"X The Wheel" and Moving to the Center

Another night of such deep and sound sleep that I again do not remember having a single dream however as I awoke this morning feeling that I spent the night in the spiritual realms, the world of Spirit.  As I relaxed into a meditative state this morning with candles alit and incense smoking I entered a state of purity, of utter stillness, and simply was.  I no longer heard myself breathing or the sounds of the morning, I was nowhere and everywhere but not in the physical sense.  My existence moved beyond my physical body and my mind expanded into infinity and beyond.

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is and I am “X The Wheel of Life: If life on the rim makes you dizzy, move to the centre. Awareness of the cycles of life. Equanimity. A change in fortunes. Guidance from your future or past self.”

Meditation filled my mind as I immersed and lost myself in “X The Wheel of Life".  As I gave to the energy of this card, images “II The Intuitive" and thoughts of meditation filled my mind as the phrase "move to the centre" filled my ears.  Slow down and you will find stillness and a roadmap of sorts that offers a smoother path through life.  Continue to give yourself over to and be guided by Spirit.  As the incense rises and wafts through the air let yourself do the same, open yourself up and let world around you fill you up with the natural spirit and energy that is waiting for you to experience as it wants to experience you.

II The Intuitive and Digging Deep With Ourselves to Find Ourselves

Not remembering my dreams as of late is beginning to annoy me.  Although, I think my dreams are all spiritual in nature.

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is and I am “II The Intuitive: To be true to oneself, one must know oneself.  Looking within for answers.  Meditation. Intuition.  Exploring that which is normally hidden.”

Digging deeper within myself to get an even closer look at Who I am so I am more knowledgeable about myself and how I fit into this world.  Meditation is a good way forward.  I need to know more about myself and what really makes me tick.  And perhaps discover more about what my passions are and where I can take myself with these new discoveries I'm making.

We need to close our eyes for a moment and take a good look at ourselves from the inside out.  We really need to dig deeper.

XI Strength, Using Our Determination and Focus with High Levels of Energy to Achieve Results

Elusive dreams once again however I feel that whatever dreams I was having they were favourable to me and my desire to be a spiritual person through and through from job and career to my personal and social life.

My initial thoughts: focus, control, intent, goal oriented, purpose driven, determined, putting our high levels if not excessive energies to good use to produce the results that we most desire.

XVI Revelation: Is It Time to Reveal the Truth?

Memories of any dreams I had are being elusive.  I don't have any recollection of what the subject matter of any dream may have been...nothing, absolutely nothing comes to mind.  However, having said that I awoke happy but was not happy about having to head out to the job.  Happiness that is coming from my inner self, happiness driven by the knowledge, wisdom, and belief that I've had bestowed upon the gifts of being a Spiritual Guidance Counsellor and Tarot Card Reader and these will be front and centre as 2017 gets into full swing, no room for a job as this spiritual career I've been given is in full bloom.

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is and I am “XVI Revelation: While it is usually best to tell the truth about yourself to those who are close to you, it can be a painful experience.  A necessary destruction of the status quo.  Having to tell someone an unwelcome truth.  A new idea which upsets others.”

Being totally honest and true to ourselves can bring us freedom, relief, a clean slate but may be upsetting and disheartening to others.  It'd be good to find a way to make it more uplifting, more palatable if at all possible.  But these things sometimes just have to be said, there is no way around, no need to beat around the bush either.  But if spoken from the depths of our being, from our spirit to theirs and with much love then perhaps the fallout can be mitigated or lessened to a great degree.

Dreaming about seeing a tabby cat through the window of a store, perhaps an antique store or maybe some old new age store somewhere I might have been visiting.  I was looking from a couple of floors up.  Off to the side of that window I noticed a bunch of people sleeping on the street, one of whom caught my attention as he or she was sleeping under a piece of cardboard that was leaning up this person's legs which were resting on something a couple of feet up the wall.  It was very bright out but appeared to be morning hours.

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is and I am the “2 of Cups: The Dialogue.  A balanced relationship.  Being able to see things from the other’s perspective.”

My reflections of the “2 of Cups" are coming together as/with yourself, understanding your own diversity, coming to terms with your duality and contradictions, balance, equilibrium.  I find this card fitting today as I'm always eager to look at and within myself and make new discoveries of who I am and what makes me tick.  And one thing that comes out is that I can be full of contradictions such as being fascinated by science and technology but also with the spiritual world, things unseen, different dimensions, the unseen energy and power of the cosmos and Spirit, the paranormal, psychic abilities and seeing spirits on occasion.

And since I'm able to understand myself I'm getting better at understanding others, especially my partner.  When we get a handle on ourselves and understand all of our internal conflicts and contradictions then we should be better able and capable to understand such things in others and thus be in a better position and more able to understand and communicate with our loved ones.

The Ace of Swords Leading Us Straight To Our Goals

We had a really great weekend.  I experimented with a couple of new recipes one of which came from Global BC's Weekend Morning News and the other from the calendar we picked up from Windsor Quality Meats on Main Street.  On Saturday I whipped up a coconut curry sauce that I added prawns to and we had that over some white rice--absolutely delicious.  And last night I made a Hungarian Beef Goulash--a perfect meal for a cold winter's day and it made up for the lacklustre dish I had when we met some friends for brunch.

Last night Stanley the Crow entered my dreams.  He appeared more than once as the night ticked by as I was also dreaming about working with clients and fulfilling my most cherished goal(s).

The "Sage of Swords" and Offering Wise Counsel

Mostly a quiet and homey day for us.  We did go out and do our grocery run after lunch and had our afternoon coffee after that.  For me it was a nice easy and perfect weekend day.

Spirit Is and today's Gay Tarot Energy is and I am the “Sage of Swords: Making a mature, informed decision.  Being too judgmental.  Mediating a dispute.”

My initial thoughts as I immersed myself into the “Sage of Swords" are: impartiality, objectivity, reasoning, focused, deliberate, logical, impartial, wise counsel.  These thoughts are easily the influence of this card this day for we may be called upon to act as wise counsel where our impartiality can bring two parties together through reasoned discussions and agreeable compromise.  Give way to Spirit so we are not subject to being judgemental or closed-minded.

The "9 of Coins" and Celebrating Love and Energy of Spirit In Our Lives and Our Achievements

I can't recall having any in dreams, in fact I don't even remember dreaming.  It was a night of simply being asleep then awake and did awake and fall back to sleep several times.

I awoke and meditated for about 5-7 minutes, nothing heavy duty but long enough to satisfy my need to seriously meditate.  I became the burning flame of the candles, the rising smoke of the incense the trunk, branches and needles to Rowana, the pine tree taking up residence on the dining room table.  I said her name is Rowena but it is not, she has corrected me several times...thanks Rowana for clarifying your name for me.  I became the Tarot Decks and Tarot Cards set upon the table.  Which deck will end up in my hands?

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is and I am the “9 of Coins: Rewards.  Enjoying the fruits of your labour.  Well-deserved enjoyment.”

My initial thoughts about the “9 of Coins" are: satisfaction, reward, contentment, knowing that you worked hard to get where you are and are celebrating your achievements, being at peace with yourself.  We're connected with Spirit and the infinite energy of the cosmos that has helped propel us to where we are, so we should celebrate that Spirit is in our lives and has made it possible for us to be able to be celebrate today.

The Initiate of Chalices and Finding a Healthy Emotional Balance in Our Lives

Weird dreams last night.  Having a gathering of people, maybe for lunch, I only recognized a couple of people.  Then if I remember correctly I think I was walking around in what I'll call my Wizard Oron attire and appeared to be waiting for and then interacting with different people regarding their personality and character cards.  I was smiling and having a good time with the people in my midst.

And as the day on the job I'm in the process of leaving ticked on by my thoughts reminded me of why I desire to leave the job.  Reasons such as behaving as a bit of a hypocrite, going against my principles, supporting people who are really looking out for themselves but doing little things here and there to try to make up for important areas where they are seriously lacking such as in how to treat people and what it means to be a good employer.  But I've been changing myself and doing less of going against my principles as well as being less of a hypocrite.  Can't change my past behaviour but at least I'm changing what I'm doing in the present.

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is and I am the "Initiate of Chalices: The suit of Chalices and its corresponding element, Water, is feminine and emotionally nurturing, so a woman with long flowing brown hair represents this Initiate.  She wears a blue robe with a light blue stole and two necklaces.  She holds a lovely chalice, preparing to hand it to her priestess for ritual use.  Nearby a deer and fawn watch her curiously.  This Initiate can be someone concerned with her own heart or the emotional needs of others.  She may neglect her own needs for those of others or obsess about her own feelings as well strength and support in a time of need."

An apt description of my feelings today and most days really.  I do tend to have a high level of concern for the well-being of others especially their spiritual well-being as I feel that if we are well grounded spiritually then our lives tend to be richer and easier to handle and contend with than they otherwise would be.

At the same time however, I sometimes focus too much on my own feelings thus paying less attention to how people are feeling almost to the point of ignoring their need for a little TLC.  And on occasion I must admit as much as I am embarrassed to do so that I've allowed my feelings to trump the more important emotional needs of others such as those of my partner and then regretting it later.  Only to be reminded of this by the appearance of the "6 of Swords".

We must strive to find a healthy balance between our own needs and the needs of others.  If we find that we are bit stronger emotionally than those around perhaps then we should focus more attention on them so that they can with support from us find emotional peace and contentment.  And a good way to do this is to help them strengthen their connection with Spirit so that they become more well grounded and emotionally secure in their lives.  As Spirit is where turn when we need to bring emotional peace and contentment and restore that healthy balance in the day-to-day living in our own lives.

The Transformative Power of XIII Death and Emerging as a Butterfly

Have not hit the gym in a couple of weeks.  Went once after Christmas I do believe and that's it.  Struggling with a cold but I miss the gym and will just go, cold or no cold.  Don't want to lose too much muscle mass.

Had an odd dream about singing with someone I didn't recognise and it might have been lip syncing or karaoke but it seemed to be in front of an audience of sorts.  And I think this other person may have been younger but not so sure if they were male or female and one point they seemed to be peeking through the opening of an old wooden television.

Then I was walking away from my "singing" performance and on a street somewhere, didn't recognise it as being anywhere around metro Vancouver.  As I was walking I got splashed with a couple of different types of liquid as three teenage boys ran by me.  They turned back toward me and laughed but their actions of spilling this on me didn't appear to be all that intentional.  However as I continued walking, two other people approached me and that's when I/they noticed that what appeared to be paint landed on the sleeve of my tan summer blazer and maybe what was acid on my light green spring sweater.  Although I did not appear to be burned we noticed that my abdomen appeared to full of scars when I checked to see if the acid had burned me.  I did not feel pain of have any sort of bad reaction to seeing the scars nor was I surprised.

Spirit Is and today's Pagan Tarot Energy is "XIII Death: Perhaps the most feared card in the deck, and yet a very positive card, Death indicates a time when our denial can no longer blind us to the things in our lives we must change; the very fiber of our  lives must transform itself, much like the butterfly emerging from its cocoon. We must leave the old self behind and fly free to our new lives."

When this card appeared I knew in an instant that "the very fiber of our  lives must transform itself, much like the butterfly emerging from its cocoon. We must leave the old self behind and fly free to our new lives."  And I really must leave "the old self behind and fly free to" my new life.  I know this with every fibre of my being.  And during lunch this afternoon I took a glance at the card on the bottom of the deck and it was "XVI The Tower", further proof that I must change and in this case change means getting rid of old habits once and for all.  I thought I did this a while back but some old habits are slow to leave us.  And I'm so glad that I'm recognizing this at a time where I'm in control and can bring about such change as I often fool myself in thinking that some of my old habits bring me comfort when in fact they do not.  I am indeed like a "butterfly emerging from its cocoon."

The Queen of Drums and Finding Appreciation and Love For the Simple Things

Much better sleep last night and awoke slightly about thirty seconds before the alarm even turning over and pretty much going back to sleep.  I added the Golden Dawn Tarot Deck to the goodies I have under my pillow--amethyst, labradorite, dumortierite, iolite, shaman stone, citrine, jade, a loonie and my business cards so perhaps my sleep is reflective of that.

Spirit Is and today's Shaman Tarot Energy is the "Queen of Drums, Mother Bear: A person who loves simple things.  Protection, jealousy, excessive caution."

Simple is good, it frees up energy that can be focused on creating a more loving and positive environment for one's self as well as others.  It's also good to be protective of family and friends and cautious too however we must guard against unwarranted jealousy and being overly cautious.  Being protective does not being stifling and smothering.  Being cautious is more often about well thought out plans and ideas, decisions and courses of actions.  As well as being able to deal with and handle as best we can things that turn sideways on us.

The 3 of Wands, Intentions, Becoming Goals Realised

Not unexpectedly, I had a poor night of sleep as today was a new work day and I tend to sleep only about half to three quarters of the night and then toss and turn the rest of the time.  Over the two four day weekends I had, I slept right through the nights and even slept in the odd day.  I expect this to change though as I become more engaged and identify with my true purpose and authentic self.  I've seen several markers around me letting me know that my goals are coming to fruition.

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is the “3 of Wands: Leaving the nest.  Seeing progress.  Something or someone you have nurtured must now strike out on their own.”

I hear this “3 of Wands" telling us that our intentions dreamed by us, given to Spirit with sincere hearts have come to life, are maturing and are ready to blossom.  Our goals being realized.

Yesterday was a quiet day for us.  Once we got home we stayed in the rest of the day...really too tired to do much else other than sit, lay, and even have a snooze, an afternoon siesta.  Dinner was easy, a quick warm-up of leftovers and we had and enjoyed our supper.

Today we have to do a grocery run and get prepared for the first and luckily short week of the new year.  Our grocery runs are pretty easy as we plan our meals and have a neat little list prepared before we...well that's true most of the time.

Happy New Year! A Visit From the Queen of Stones, Mother of the Seas

Happy New Year!

It was an odd day yesterday as we had no New Year's Eve Dinner to cook or guests to host and I found myself unable to relax.  We had dinner reservations for 9:00 at La Brasserie where we were meeting two of our friends and then we had loose plans that turned into firm plans to meet two other friends for the New Year's Countdown and Fireworks near Canada Place.

So we had lunch and coffee with my brother.  Lunch at Big Star Sandwich and coffee at Old Crow Coffee Company.  Both very nice and relaxing experiences with good company and conversation.

As was our late dinner and late get together for the big finale of 2016.  We spent the night downtown to avoid the crowds returning home to the suburbs on transit.  A great choice as our friends had a bed ready for us and even a big breakfast planned for the morning.  Breakfast which was really lunch by the time we all got up and mobile.

Great experiences all around yesterday!  Thank You Spirit!

It's time to put to good use our great power of imagination and love of nature with the resources we have at our disposal.  Many times we may not think we have all that we need however, if we take a step back and look at all that we have, we'll see just how much and how many things we have to not only get started on something but to also keep us going likely almost indefinitely.  I have Tarot Cards, Candles, Incense, Crystals and Stones, Sacred White Sage Room and Body Spray, Aura Cleanser Essence Spray and many books at my disposal.  But then I'm filled the knowledge and wisdom of Spirit that tells me that one of the greatest resources we have and that most of us miss is ourselves.  Go take a look in the mirror and just look at the great resource looking back at you!
