The 6 of Cups, Fond Memories, and Unexpected Acts of Kindness

Monday, August 4th, 2014.  Happy Birthday to my sister!

Today is a civic holiday, a very much appreciated and valued day off from work.  This summer is a challenge for me as I feel like I should be out traveling on the road.  Every time I see a vehicle that looks laden with people and their vacation supplies I feel a tug on my spirit that I should be doing the same thing traveling o the road enjoying the sights and sounds of nature and all that fills our sight, our senses, and our spirits with the tender soothing caress of nature.

Yesterday we took in Vancouver’s 36th Annual Pride Parade along with about 650,000 other fine folk who value acceptance and diversity as well who wish not too harshly judge or label others because they are different from them.  The parade was festive, lively, and fun.

Then we grabbed a bite to eat before walking with the masses at the parades end and the rest of the day’s festival events.  We walked through the festival, grabbed a coffee on our way home where we grabbed the car and proceeded to take care of our weekly shopping. And relaxing the rest of the evening watching the last remaining bit of “Cloud Atlas” we did not finish the night before.

Thank You Spirit.

Spirit Is and today’s visiting Tarot Card is “6 of Cups: Happy Birthday.  Fond memories.  A gift given in friendship or love.”

Fond memories as I was still shaking of the night’s sleep I seemed to be recalling memories I do not recognize as my own from the past but more likely memories from the future I have yet to experience.  Gifts, small gifts of appreciation that make the deepest impressions are the aim of the day—breakfast in bed, flowers just because, an unexpected peck on the cheek, or doing chores without being asked or even helping a stranger across the street or carrying their heavy bags for them.  Acts of unexpected kindness go a long way today.  Let love and kindness become a state of mind where they are naturally on display each and every day.

Thank You Spirit.

Blessed Be.
