The 10 of Wands and Changing the Way We Feel About Burdens

Tuesday, June 10th, 2014.  I did not sleep well and felt as if I was barely sleeping for most of the night.  When the alarm sounded I wanted to simply curl up and fall back to sleep.  But alas, the job was calling so out bed I went.  Although, I did spend some time with Spirit and as I lay half awake so not all that bad really when I get to be spiritual.

Thank You Spirit.

Spirit Is and today’s visiting Tarot Card is the “10 of Wands: The Burden.  Responsibilities.  Obligations.  Overcommitting yourself.  Realizing that burdens are a part of life.”

The image on this card is of a young man walking along a lonely stretch of highway with a puppy in tow.  Although card is primarily about burdens seeing this card pop up every once in awhile always evokes a sense of a need of travel within me.  However, I do appreciate the sense of burden it represents and I understand fully that I am struggling through the burden of holding down a full-time and well-paying job to get to where I want to be.

Realistically as much as I know and understand that this job is not really that much of a burden I also know and understand that I want to somewhere else but I have to work a little while before I get there.  How do I manage?  By keeping focused on my goals and what this job is teaching me and how it is helping me to gain the necessary knowledge and insights to succeed when I’m on my own as well as well setting me on solid financial footing so I do not have debts to worry about and will instead have the necessary savings t carry me through when times might get tough.

I also realize that I need to provide myself with a better work life balance and make sure I find time to enjoy life by doing things I like to do such as working with Spirit and Tarot, model railroading and reading magazines and blogs about the RVing lifestyle.

So for me the underlying messages of the “10 of Wands” are to find a way to make burdens less of a burden and perhaps more enjoyable as in thinking about what we learn from them and how much stronger we are because of them as well as finding the right work-life balance so we enjoy life a little more than the burdens that we encounter in our day-to-day living.

Thank You Spirit.

Blessed Be.
