"XV The Devil" and Being Held Back by Bad Habits and Behaviours

Another weekend is upon us.  And to help myself relax last night I whipped up a batch of Nanaimo Bars--delicious and just like Mom used to make.  Then it was time to get dinner going and relax for the remainder of the evening.  Going to bed felt like something I just had to do but was not really ready for as the night somehow felt incomplete.  However, I slept quite well and faced head on any stress or worries that crept into my dreams and thoughts and forced them to move aside...making room for more images of work I was doing in awaking others to their authentic selves...very uplifting!

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is "XV The Devil.  Matter overpowers mind.  Desires rule.  Beware of your dark side.  The pursuit of materialistic or sensual pleasures may taint your ability to think clearly.  Cleanse yourself of behaviours and habits that are doing you no good.  When reversed: Things are unclear for you now.  Don’t let yourself be intimidated and don’t judge others too harshly.  Others seem uptight, set in their ways.  Are you?  Don’t let past issues cloud today’s progress."
"Cleanse yourself of behaviors and habits that are doing you no good" and see your life turnaround from one of struggle to one of freedom and clarity of mind, thought and purpose.  Break free from the constraints of such things that may feel good but do more harm than good in terms of seeking and experiencing a better life.  Some habits and behaviours are simply avoidance mechanisms we use to avoid uncomfortable circumstances and/or difficulties in our lives.  Yet the best way to overcome such trying times is to face them head on and deal with them directly and forego the procrastination that has got you nowhere.

Thank You Spirit.

'XV Self-Hatred' and Learning to and Challenging Yourself to Be Yourself

Tuesday, January 19, 2016.  Thankfully, I had a much better night of sleep.  I sleep quite soundly and awoke feeling quite refreshed.

Today's visiting Tarot Energy is “XV Self-Hatred: The trap to avoid for all minorities.  Unconsciously accepting societal norms.  Low self-esteem."

Yes, I must admit I'm having up and down days.  This past weekend was full of ups until Sunday evening rolled around and new work day was approaching.  I was dreading awaking and having to go to work Monday morning.

However, as I awoke on Monday I decided to be very spiritual about the day ahead and the day turned out very well.  I'm having issues with going to a job when I'd rather be doing spiritual works and helping others along their spiritual journeys.  The job feels right at times and not so much at others especially the last week or so.  The job is rubbing me the wrong way but the money is good and helps me to manage my debts.

Aaaaaaggghhhh....

I've got caught in a trap and have a mundane job that is at a cross-purposes with the journey I need to be taking in my life right now.  Actually, it's I've been needing to take for a long, long, very long time.

If you've got ideas for your life, how you want to live your life, how you want to go about living give them some real thought even though they might go against the grain of society.  After thinking about them for awhile ask yourself just how outlandish are my ideas and is there a way that I mesh my ideas together with the rest of the world around me.  Is there a way for your blend in without blending in?  Can you earn a living and still be the person you wish to be?

It might be a challenge but what a worthy challenge it is to find a way to be yourself and live freely and happily with the rest of society.

Thank You Spirit.

Blessed Be.

'XV The Devil' and Finding Ways to Clear Our Mind

Sunday, November 29th, 2015.  By late morning, we were on the train headed downtown to take a walk around Stanley Park for however long the mood to walk carried us.  First however we had to find a place for lunch.  We decided on Steamrollers, a quick and decent lunch before heading off to the park for our walk.  The day was cold and crisp for Vancouver but the sun was shining and a short walk and the sights and sounds of the park beckoned us.

We didn't end up walking all that far however we managed about three kilometres along the seawall and however long our walk through the city too us.  Before heading home we stopped for an afternoon coffee and pastry at Baguette and Co and a quick walk through TOPMAN.  Our only layout of cash was for our food and the transit fare to and from downtown but we had a great day out were back home around 5:00pm.

The evening for me was spent working on my model railroad and the other half practiced piano.  Then by 11:00pm we were crawling into bed.

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is the "XV The Devil.  Matter overpowers mind.  Desires rule.  Beware of your dark side.  The pursuit of materialistic or sensual pleasures may taint your ability to think clearly.  Cleanse yourself of behaviors and habits that are doing you no good.  When reversed: Things are unclear for you now.  Don’t let yourself be intimidated and don’t judge others too harshly.  Others seem uptight, set in their ways.  Are you?  Don’t let past issues cloud today’s progress."

Do what you can to clear your mind if you find our thoughts scattered or find it difficult to concentrate.  Perhaps, spend a moment or two with one of your houseplants, if you have any or a quick trip out into your backyard.  Or even grab a gemstone or crystal that can ground you and help clear your mind.  A moment or two with eyes closed and in silence can do wonders to settle and clears one's mind.

Do your best to bite your tongue before speaking, keep an open mind and look at yourself, take a long hard look in the mirror before casting judgment on someone else. Our thoughts and words can come back to bite us if we don't show restraint when we know we should.

We all need to do more and keep our minds in check as well as keep them healthy and clear of the muck and mire that can pollute them when we allow the worst of our own humanity get the better of us.

Hug a tree and clear your mind!

Thank You Spirit.

Blessed Be.

'1 The Shaman' and '15 The Guardian

Friday, October 2nd, 2015.  Another week at the job is under my belt and not a bad it was.  I'm finding my groove at the job and it is becoming less annoying to me and I am no longer just tolerating the job, I'm actually enjoying it more often than not.  Yes, I'd like more free time to focus on my spiritual life and career but debts must be paid and until such a time comes where I feel more comfortable in taking a risk I'll leave the job and simply be a spiritual guide in the here and now.

Last night we saw our last movie at VIFF, a compilation of international short movies, all worth the evening out.  We then had a spicy yet mild meal at the Noodle Box on Hastings before heading home.  I showered and relaxed a short bit before crawling into bed and a good night's sleep.

Spirit Is and yesterday's Tarot Energy is "1 The Shaman: You may hear the beat of a drum or the song of the wind.  It may be the dancing of light on water or the midnight barking of the fox, but whatever awakens your desire to return to the wild, the Shaman in you is ready for initiation into the mysteries.  This may manifest itself in the form of a desire to study esoteric science or philosophy and apply what you learn to the world.  It may involve travel for the sake of gaining confidence and experience.  But however the desire to begin a new spiritual chapter emerges, you are now in an emotional and intellectual position to bring forth real change in your life for the benefit of everyone.  This process of focusing, mediating and applying wisdom from the otherworld to everyday reality is the true work of the Shaman."

Today's Tarot Energy is "15 The Guardian: A challenge has arrived in your life.  The situation may be very complex.  It may even have profound implications for your life and how you deal with the world.  It may manifest itself in the form of a profound inner realignment or the facing of some physical outer predicament.  Whether from the labyrinth that is the human mind or from some external source, the challenge that presents itself now must be seen for what it is: an opportunity.  If something has been hidden or repressed, if a situation has been left to decay or become unhealthy, now is the time to take control of your fears and deal with the insecurity with courage and integrity.  Always be aware that however threatening or difficult this situation is, you can only become stronger and more resilient from the experience of understanding and accepting inner darkness."

Let's look within, let's be guided by Spirit, let's be guided by all life here on Earth so that we can learn to give to ourselves so that we may give to others.  A key component of this is the ability to face and overcome our own fears, for we must understand that the most fearful thing we have is our own imaginations.  If we face challenges as opportunities then we can learn, grow, and work real magic into our lives.

Speaking of magic tomorrow, we leave on our shakedown or maiden voyage in Serenity.  I've been somewhat nonchalant about the trip and can even go so far as to say the I was nervous and fearful of the trip.  When I drove over to the storage lot to pick her (Serenity) up I was wondering to myself what the heck I was doing.  However, once I unlocked the van and put the few items away inside I was feeling quite good about it all.  The only nerves coming from driving on metro Vancouver roads but we made it back home to the condo and she is now safely parked on the street waiting for us to get started tomorrow.

Thank You Spirit.

Blessed Be.

Will The Real Me Stand Up!

I slept okay, awoke and then my mind was taken over by swirling thoughts and worries that I thought I had overcome but alas they still haunt me.  My thoughts and worries are reflected in today’s card as is the way I often feel lately.  I’m doing my best to meditate and relax and focus on love and compassion and looking at the world through divine eyes so I pass no judgements and simply allow others to “be” including myself and so as not to allow all that is wrong in the world bring me down or affect me in a negative way.

So I am struggling with life and doing my best to allow love and light into my heart so that I become a better person and thus resonate that with the rest of the world.  The best way for me to do this is to be me, allow the real me to shine brightly in the world, no hiding behind masks or false facades, I simply need me to be me!

Thank You Spirit.

Spirit Is and today’s visiting Tarot Card is “XV Self-Hatred: The trap to avoid for all minorities.  Unconsciously accepting societal norms.  Low self-esteem".  I am a good person and have a lot of love and talent to offer this world.  My goals and dreams are real and achievable and I need to keep them alive and allow them to come to life for me.  I deserve to happy and have the life I most desire.

Thank You Spirit.

Blessed Be.

Time Can Pass by so Quickly

So many days since my last entry.

On Friday, March 12th the card that revealed itself to me was from the Major Arcana, XIX The Sun - success, joy, and achievement.
On Saturday and Sunday, March 13th and 14th the card was again from the Major Arcana, I the Magician - confidence, good communications, and practical skill.

On Monday, March 15th the card that came to mind was another from the Major Arcana, XV The Devil - bondage, self-delusion, and anger.

Today, the card is not from the Major Arcana and is instead from the suit of Cups as in the The Three of Cups - abundance, celebration, and creativity.

I can say without a doubt that each of these cards is very fitting for each and every day they came into my mind and I also have no doubt that the same cards would have been revealed had I randomly selected them from my deck of Rider-Waite Tarot cards.

And just to review that during my two week vacation in Boston and New York although not actively working with Tarot in any sort of way I did in fact feel Tarot at work in my life during that wonderful vacation.
