XVIII The Moon and Empowering Ourselves

Got caught up in watching the 2016 US Presidential Election and when the result was pretty much final...too close to call...but the writing was on the wall, we decided to force ourselves to eat even though we felt sick to our stomachs, grab a shower and then go to bed.  We were in bed well before 10:00pm.

Slept well but not really, the shocking results of the election kept playing around in my head and not that we shouldn't car after all we live in Canada we cannot but hep being affected by the results of this election.

Spirit Is and yesterday's Tarot Energy was "I The Magician: To live fully, one must create a life, not merely react to it.  Creativity.   Ability.  Making something happen.”

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is “XVIII The Moon: Sexuality pulls us into a different, non-rational world which is sometimes frightening, always creative.  A sense of mystery.  Creative ideas which gestate in the subconscious.  Sexuality or sex.”

We must take the power back from our fears and keep it fully under our control.  We must not give powers to fears that are not real but rather a product of not maintaining control of our lives, not always being responsible or accountable for what we do or the results of our actions.  None of the fears should have or be given power over our lives.  Realize and accept that the only way they have such power is because we give it to them.

I'm in the same boat.  I often given into my fears but today is different for I have nothing to fear.  The power desire, I already have just look at yesterday's Tarot Energy, "I The Magician".  If we truly want something out of life, we have it in us to "create a life", our life just the way we want it.  Along the way we may get sidetracked, pushed back, stumble, fall, or even give up but real living is getting back up, dusting ourselves off, and to keep trying.  My life isn't done and neither is yours.

VI The Lovers and Experiencing Your Partner's Life and Story

Yesterday was a day of enjoying the fine performance of the New Westminster Symphony and then gathering with friends after for food--porchetta, sweet potatoes, and carrots, drink--wine, beer, cranberry gingerale, and wonderful conversation.  Oh, cannot forget about the homemade black rice pudding topped with coconut milk--yummy and the lemon tart with chocolate shavings was quite tasty too!

Luckily, our guests left early enough to allow us to clean up and relax a little before going to bed...got to bed at a decent time and slept very well...

...Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is a continuation from yesterday, "VI The Lovers: A relationship is always a mingling of differences.  A powerful relationship.  Seeing both sides of an issue.  Flexibility.”

Seeing both sides of an issue" and "Flexibility” are filling my mind.  Relationships should be about balance and equality where no one is superior to the other, both are on an equal footing and both voices heard and respected.  Look in the mirror and see if you can see your partner in the reflection.  Sit for a moment, see your partner, feel your partner, hear his or her spirit, let them permeate every atom of your being for a moment, let your energies comingle for a spell, become your partner and let them become you.  Then you'll understand them better and then the two of you will communicate better and appreciate each other more and feel profound love for one another.  This all happens when you take the time to hear and experience their story and their life as they do the same for you.

VI The Lovers, Balance, Compromise, Spirit, and Love

Yesterday morning I met my brother for breakfast as he was in the "neighbourhood", a few kilometres away having the oil changed in his car and winter tires put on.  My partner was taking care of the morning after pile of dishes that still had to go into the dishwasher that was put to use overnight cleaning the first massive load.

After meeting my brother I returned home so we could do a quick clean up and get organized for yet another dinner we are hosting tonight.  We had to do up a shopping list and head out for that in the dark rainy day...the day looked like night where we should be getting ready for bed and not a day of shopping.  But then the rain lightened up a bit and the day got just a little brighter.  With our afternoon coffee out of the way, our grocery run for tonight's dinner and week ahead complete we came home.  By the time we got the groceries put away and relaxed a spell, it was well after 7pm.  Where was dinner.  Thank goodness for leftovers...quick and easy.

...sleep was a bit jumbled as I have a bit of a cold and had a hard time sleeping for the first half of the night...then I was out like that an awoke around 5:30...feeling a little nudge from Spirit that it was time for me to hop out of bed...

...Spirit Is and today's Gay Tarot Energy is "VI The Lovers: A relationship is always a mingling of differences.  A powerful relationship.  Seeing both sides of an issue.  Flexibility.”

When I first looked at "VI The Lovers" I thought of my partner and myself and then “XIV Temperance" came to mind as it describes at least to me how a good ad well-balanced relationship works--"Mix things up a little.  Combining separate elements to create something new.  Moderation (not too much of each flavour).  Flexibility.”

Each person is a separate ingredient that mixes with others to create a dish with unique flavours yet at the same time their own individuality and uniqueness offer up their own underlying flavours that can still be tasted or as we're talking about seen in the relationship...so seek balance through compromise and understanding to build and strengthen your relationship bringing it to new heights and ever closer to the Divine.

The Novice of Pentacles and Learning to Work Smarter Instead of Always Working Harder

We hosted a dinner party last night where the conversation was lively, fun, and entertaining.  The appetizers and desserts were great however the main course, a chicken meatball stew, if you will was a bit lacking in overall flavour.  It did not have the body and taste that we remember from the last time we made it.  We have leftovers so we're going to experiment a bit with the recipe with an addition of salt and chicken stalk.  We used turkey necks to create the soup base and I think this is where the recipe failed on us.

Got to bed later than usual and awoke much earlier than usual but I'm going with the flow today.  I've been up for a couple of hours now and the sun has not risen although the morning warmly welcomed me as I arose from my slumber.  It's just past 7:00am and the day looks like it's still the dark of night and there are many more hours left to sleep, well maybe for some there is but I'm always up by this time.

Spirit Is and today's Pagan Tarot Energy is the "Novice of Pentacles: The suit of Pentacles and its corresponding element, Earth, is feminine and is the mother of comfort, security and a solid foundation of grounding, so a young female with long, curly dark hair represents this Novice.  She wears a long brown robe and a pentacle around her neck.  She intently examines an altar pentacle.  Nearby is a basket of fruit.  This Novice can be someone who has worked particularly hard for someone in her situation.  A rest may be needed.  This person should be wary, though, of resting on her laurels and stagnating."

Have a good rest however, allow this rest to fill you with fresh and new ideas where you find better ways to work smarter instead of harder.  This is best achieved when we rest just long enough to rejuvenate ourselves but not to the point of becoming lethargic and lazy.  Too much isn't a good thing either.

The Man of Coins and Hard Work Leads to Success and a Well Deserved Rest

Awoke before the alarm and did my best to let sleep sink in again but it never came so I focused on Spirit and my important and integral connection with Spirit and nature.  I dozed a little while doing this and rambling images filled my mind--talking to people about Tarot, who the next president of the United States will be--I hope my American neighbours to the south get it right...and some thoughts about the job that I quickly shooed out of my mind.

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is the “Man of Coins: Responsible and hard-working. Reliable. Dependable."

As soon as I saw this card I thought of my partner and how all of these traits are exhibiting both here at home and in the workplace as witnessed by myself and my partner's co-workers.  Then I thought of myself and how I'm exhibiting these trait but being sorely underpaid for what I do.  But I won't change my behavior for I am who I am and am filling the shoes I really want to wear now, those of me, Wizard Oron, of course.

If you consider yourself hardworking but don't you're not being paid what your worth or not succeeding as you hope to, don't change your work ethic as your success is your work ethic.  Find a way to make it work for you and lift you up to where you want to be.  Hard work does pay off, it just might take awhile.

"0 The Fool" and Embarking on a Journey of New Wonder and Discovery

Slept very well last night and was not ready to awake when the alarm serenaded us this morning.

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is “0 The Fool: Accepting and exploring one's sexual identity is a journey of self-discovery. Beginning a new and exciting venture.  Going beyond the limits of social convention.  A non-conformist.”

"Beginning a new and exciting venture" because I'm/we're "A non-conformist(s)” is the message I'm receiving and the energy that I'm feeling today.  Let it fill you and carry you on your new journey with eyes and hearts wide open and with a new sense of wonder and discovery.  Let nature be your guide and dare to let yourself be free.

The Fool's Journey is upon us.  Let's enjoy the ride and see where it takes us!

"VIII Justice" and Breaking Free So-To-Speak

Had a quiet Samhain/Halloween as we always do, something to do with living in a condo tower.  But we had a candle burning to honour the day.

Spirit Is and today's Tarot Energy is “VIII Justice: Even today, gays can be the victims of “justice”.  An unfair judgment.  Being too judgemental or righteous.  Feeling restricted by others’ expectations.”

Am I, are we really "Feeling restricted by others’ expectations” or are we simply using this as an excuse or as a way to excuse our own self imposed restrictions on ourselves.  A lot to think about but a good place to look, looking at ourselves before we blame others for the state of our lives.

During my late lunch break and on the drive back to the office I thought about this and talked through it all with myself as traffic slowly made its way along Highway 15 toward Highway #1.  And the conclusion I came to is that I am no longer held back by myself or others.  I declared out loud that I am free of all limitations whether self-imposed or otherwise.  In fact, I declared myself free of all encumbrances including financial ones.

I am free.  Free to live my life, to fulfill my purpose, to give back in appreciation of all that I've been given.
