5 of Swords and Seeing the Bigger Picture

I had a good day yesterday, got lost in going to the dentist, driving to Commercial drive to meet up for coffee, then driving back home via a trip to the grocery to get a few things for tonight’s dinner with co-workers and friends.  Our day then was spent at home for the rest of the afternoon and evening.

I fell asleep thinking about Spirit and the elements-earth, air, fire, and water and awoke with my thoughts with all of these again.  In fact as I communed with Spirit and the elements before arising from the bed, I was seeing myself holding earth in my hands as I worked with earth, a cloud of air when I worked with air, a ball of fire when I worked with fire, and cupping and releasing water as I worked with water.  As I thought about nature I was filled with a sense of all of nature for all of millennia and same as I worked with Spirit.

I was amazed by this encounter with all that was, is, and always ever will be.  What an experience to have before getting out of bed!

Thank You Spirit.

Spirit Is and today’s visiting Tarot Card is the “5 of Swords: The Tennis Game.  A game which gets out of hand.  A pattern of always needing to win, or to lose.”

I was lost with the appearance of this card as the image is just what is written above so I had to reference some other materials to further my understanding of this card.  And I discovered that what is more fitting is to see my “self” as encompassing the world or better put is that the world encompasses me, we are one and the same, and integral part of one another, the two cannot be separated.  What we do affects everything.  And although, we must protect ourselves from harm we must also look at the bigger picture and find solutions to our problems and dilemmas in light of the greater whole.

This planet, Mother Gaia is not ours to do with as we please.  We must have a symbiotic relationship with her and respect her and all that she has to offer.  A good analogy to this is that we are now crossing the line and abusing her beyond measure and we should know better.

Thank You Spirit.

Blessed Be.
