Trip to the Olympic Peninsula and Our Stay at the Elwha Dam RV Park & Campground (Part 4)

Serenity likely needs a new "house" battery and the cupboard door in the bathroom needs to be repainted.  The house battery was disconnected after our last trip in October but does not appear to be holding any charge.  Or perhaps the connections need to be cleaned.  Either way it's something that needs to be looked at.
Another area we were thinking of tackling is the TV as in removing it but then we discovered that it's just a monitor but with DVD player, USB, and Memory Card Reader so we'll keep it, at least for now.  But the antenna will go.  We want to install a solar panel or two on Serenity's roof so we can keep the batteries charged without relying on an electrical hookup.  We really like the ease and simplicity of the peel n stick solar panels and they look to be about the right size to fit in the space available on Serenity's roof.  More research is required and will be done.  Then of course to really create an independent lifestyle we're also researching portable generators of which there are many in the market to choose from so again...research, research and more research.  And heck, it's fun to do!
Oh, and we still have a Class C Motorhome available AS IS to the first person who requests her.  She's had some modifications done inside and out and has not been started in well over a year and likely has a few leaks to deal with but if you're a good do-it-yourself-er she might be a fun project for you to work on.  And we're not kidding, she's FREE!
Something else we are looking at is bringing ART into Serenity by finding things that will fit into each door panel...we'll see how it goes...18 panels in all from our count.

And we have to change the bathroom tap--it's appalling!  It does not stick far enough into the sink for us to get our hands under so it's pretty much impossible to wash your hands in the bathroom.  As I was thinking about doing this an idea came to mind on how to reconfigure the location of the shower head and perhaps giving it a separate hot and cold water tap.

Trip to the Olympic Peninsula and Our Stay at the Elwha Dam RV Park & Campground (Part 2&3)

Tuesday, April 26, 2016:

As dusk overtook the day last evening those elusive and legendary frogs of the "Frog Pond" next to us came to life in a big way.  With Serenity parked below the shore of the pond we had front row seats to the sounds of the "Frog Orchestra".  And what a treat and delight it is to hear the hundreds of frogs croaking to their hearts content.
I may have tossed and turned and it was and still is cold, 3 Clecius.  I slept fairly well and awoke around 5:30am feeling well rested and very much ready to get up so I did!

Thinking about it now the sofa bed is  bit uncomfortable and although a mattress topper might help it's just too much to bring into the small space of Serenity.  So I'll put up with it for now.

Spirit's time is now and today's Gay Tarot Energy is the “5 of Wands: The Hockey Game.  The project meets resistance.  Testing one’s ideas against others.  An enjoyable struggle.  Competition in the marketplace."

A bit of a struggle and a competitive market are pushing me to learn and grow more and greatly expand my knowledge.  Allowing in the wisdom of the cosmos and completely opening myself up to the presence, power, and guidance of Spirit will allow me to soar to new heights, heights I never thought possible with a good dose of humility and generosity thrown in there to keep me balanced and well grounded.

Thank You Spirit.

Namaste.

Afternoon/Evening of Tuesday, April 26, 2016:

After breakfast and a relaxing morning we hiked down to the former site of the Elwha Dam, completed in 1911 and removed in 2014.  The Elwha River is another example of the magnificent gifts of nature however her mighty energy was harnessed to create hydroelectric power that was used to spur man's growth and development of the peninsula.  I could sense the nature's energy and rejoicing now that the two manmade dams are no more and she reclaims the rightful passage of the Elwha River and return of all the life that disappeared when the dam was built.  Nature is in its glory and the trees are rejoicing!
We passed through this gateway:
Down at what was once the bottom of the reservoir we came upon the remains of an old wagon:

Thank You Spirit and Thank You Nature!

After lunch we unhooked and took Serenity out for a drive so we could visit Joyce, the Joyce General Store and the former Joyce Railroad Station of the last remaining log built train stations in existence, if I remember correctly.  Now the Joyce General Store sure has a lot of life to her and what energy does she hold.  Walking into that general store is like walking into a live history lesson as you feel and sense the thousands of people who've walked into that store over the decades it's been around.  If you listen, you can still hear voices today, a part of their spirits still remain behind like a bookmark marking a page in their book of life.
Once we returned to our temporary home, Site 39, we reconnected Serenity to all the available amenities and headed over the Elwha Dam RV Park Community Center and laundry room around 4:45 pm to catch the results in the latest round of primaries.

It's about 5:30pm now and I find myself overwhelmed with thoughts of touring the rest of the Olympic Peninsula and recording my thoughts and the energy and history of the places I visit all based on the love, presence, and guidance of Spirit!

When we first stepped in the community center here at Elwha after our arrival the 'ESCAPEES, Sharing the RV Lifestyle' magazine caught my eye.  And in particular the article on page 34, "Advice from a Full-time RVer, Working from the Road".

I love living and experiencing life in and from Serenity.  I am well on my way to "Working From the Road" and joining the author of this article, Brittany Highland, on the road.  I'd love nothing more than to continue driving down US Highway 101 tomorrow to see the rest of the Olympic Peninsula as well as the rest of small town USA rather than heading back home...

...I want to RV fulltime badly enough that I'm willing to plan and sacrifice to make it happen and make it happen within the next twelve months or less.

I need to give into and feed my wanderlust!

I hear the road calling me and I'm taking the risk to make it happen.

I'm following Spirit around the continent and writing about it...join me on this journey and see and experience your life changed!

Trip to the Olympic Peninsula and Our Stay at the Elwha Dam RV Park & Campground (Part 1)

As we drove over on Sunday to pick Serenity up for our trip I was as nervous as I was last October.  I was nervous the entire drive home.  I guess I'm still adjusting to being an RVer.  It's still all so new to me and I guess I'm scared to do something wrong or make some kind of mistake when I/we go about camping.

Monday, April 25, 2016, 9 o'clock sharp:

After a relaxing morning we were underway cruising along in Serenity.  After about a five minute wait, and a minute of questions we were through the border and cruising down the I-5.

We stopped at a Fred Meyer near Bellingham for groceries and then Jack In The Box in Oak Harbor for a quick lunch.  And we are now aboard the Kennewick crossing Admiralty Inlet from Coupeville (Whidbey Island) to Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula.  After a 25 minute float on the water the ferry is docking.

My nerves settled down once we returned to Serenity after our grocery run.  I was getting into the "zone", my "zone" of being a happy camper and feeling totally at home on the road.  As we got Serenity parked and levelled I was getting more comfortable and was feeling quite at ease as we made the necessary hookups for water, electricity and waste.  Parked in Site 39 of Elwha Dam RV Park.

It's now 6:15pm and we're sitting comfortably in Serenity simply relaxing and "being".  With me being Wizard Oron through and through...thank you Spirit.

I love the natural landscape that surrounds us, that we also drove through...tree lined and canopied two lane blacktop...stunning and beautiful...

...as I sit and look out the window as I struggle with a crossword puzzle I'm filled with happiness and contentment...this is life, my life...

...life on the road suits me and I most certainly suit life on the road.

Thank You Spirit.

Namaste.

The 'Seven of Pentacles' and Tweaking Our Efforts with Stronger Focus Through Meditation with Nature

Friday, April 29, 2016.  Still enjoying our vacation although Serenity is now parked in storage again.  On a selfish note, at point during our stay at the Elwha Dam RV Park I thought to myself how nice it would be to be alone right now, alone with my own thoughts only having Spirit by my side.  Oh, Edith and Eugene would likely be sitting somewhere too!

Such a thought is not a bad thing and rather more likely an indication that I and perhaps we both some alone time...to simply be the individuals that we are.  Yes, I need to go camping by myself with only Spirit and as my guide and companion...

Spirit's time is now and today's Pagan Tarot Energy is the "Seven of Pentacles: Our Witch is practicing magick on plants again!  This time she is feeling frustrated because the plant isn't growing at all.  What she doesn't see is that while she is doing something wrong, she is doing something right.  Although the potted plant isn't growing, the rosebush behind her is growing and blooming like crazy.  If you are working really hard at something and don't see results, step back and take a look at the bigger picture.  Your power and ability may very well be in great working order - you might just need a little tweaking of your practices or stronger focus."

This is what the "Seven of Pentacles" is emphasizing for me today, "If you are working really hard at something and don't see results"..."you might just need a little tweaking of your practices or stronger focus."
This is been brought home to me in another area as well, working on my Experimental Railroad.  As I'm getting closer permanently affixing the track to the layout I see how tweaking I need to do to the roadbed in order to have a smooth flowing and easy transition of track from a flat run to a grade or hill, if you will.  Lots of minor adjustments are needed to get the trains running smoothly without hesitating as they go from one piece of track to another including through switches/turnouts.

So as with my model railroad so too does my spiritual life need some fine tuning and some minor adjustments made.  And especially in the area of focus, I really do need a stronger focus on my spirit and this can happen through the simple act of meditation, meditation that can take the form of a walk or hike through nature, of finding a place to stop and let nature take control where I become a part of the natural setting I'm in.

And now that I think about it Elwha was such a spot and perhaps why I not only had the thought but the desire to be alone.  The RV Park had what I think I called a wonderful and stunning silence...nature in all her glory...beautiful and amazing!

Thank You Spirit.

Namaste.

Elwha Dam RV Park

We're making ourselves at home, at least for a couple of days,  at the above mentioned RV park near Port Angeles on the Olympic Peninsula.

We're parked beside frog and trout ponds and boy did the frogs ever come to life when brightness of the day gave way to dusk. And what a wonderful concert they put on!

Removing Distractions Leads to the Olympic Peninsula and the Elwha Dam RV Park

Friday, March 25, 2016 at 11:14am and I'm filled with much renewed focus and energy and a well-focused and precise plan is taking shape.  I have a camper van and her name is 'Serenity' so I'm going to start using her on a more fulltime basis to travel, live, and work in.  For now I'll work around the current job and use the van as my main vehicle travelling to and from work then use her as my weekend home on Fridays and Saturdays.  I'll see what I can do on long weekends and perhaps take short excursions to places that are around two or three hours away keeping my energy focused on really developing spiritually as Wizard Oron and then using social media to talk about my spiritual growth as well as to offer and provide spiritual services to those who request it.

This I have effectively started today however the real roll-out will not get under way until the end of April after I fist camping trip of the year.

Interestingly, I was struggling to find a suitable place to camp on the Olympic Peninsula as nothing was really capturing my attention that is, until this morning after I reflected on the "Five of Arrows" and finished writing the first paragraph of this entry.  I was searching here and there on the "olympicpeninsula.org" site and found myself drawn to the "Elwha Dam RV Park" website.  Looks like a great little place to call home for a few days.  I'll sleep on it and let this idea percolate for awhile then make a firm decision tomorrow.

Getting rid of distractions and finding renewed energy and focus definitely helps things along!

Thank You Spirit.

Blessed Be.
