The End of July. Really?

Well we really are in the last half of the year, the last half of 2012 is already here and yet at times it seems like the year just started.  How can this be?  Time passes by quickly when we are not living in the moment, living and appreciating the present and being conscious participants in our own lives.  We need to be aware, conscious and in control of our own lives instead of allowing ourselves to become automatons of a society that needs to, that strives to stay in control of each and every one of us.

Today’s visiting Tarot card is the “Guide of Coins: Seeing the magic in the mundane.  Spiritual fulfillment from nature.  Finding joy in the ordinary.”  This card is one of my favourites because it is such a reflection of where most of my joy comes from.  Watching birds, ants, and even slugs do their thing brings a smile to my face and warms my heart and makes me know and appreciate my connection to all that is.

Busy Week Last Week

The job, the job I have for the moment kept me busier than usual last week and kept me from blogging more than I thought as I did not realize that my last post was last Wednesday.

Spirit is strong in presence and full of love and much needed guidance.

Youth of Cups Again Today

Today's visiting Tarot card flipped or turned over in the deck while I was shuffling it.  He's a repeat visitor from yesterday thus his message is an important one for me to receive, focus on, and take to heart.  Today's card is the Youth of Cups.  Got to keep my emotions in check, be careful about daydreaming too much and maybe not be so shy all the time.

I'm Awoke Tired But Spirit Was Ready To Go!

I slept rather well although I did awake twice to use the bathroom and then awoke just before 6:00am.  I was still sleepy and was kind of drifting off to sleep but then for some reason looked at the clock and sluggishly got out of bed to get on with my day.  My partner had another day to sleep in as I took the alarm with me.

I was sluggish and barely awake but Spirit was strong and full of energy this morning.  I worked with Tarot and today's visiting card is the Youth of Cups, young at heart and a bit of daydreaming.

I should mention that yesterday's visiting Tarot card, the 8 of Swords turned over in the deck when I was shuffling.

Spirit keeps me going.

A Good Weekend of Hiking and Friends

Had a wonderful weekend as we hiked and visited with friends.  We hiked with a friend on Saturday, had breakfast with a couple of friends Sunday morning and coffee with another friend Sunday afternoon.

We hiked along the Baden Powell Trail to Quarry Rock (Gray Rock) in Deep Cover/North Vancouver on Saturday morning.  The overcast skies and mists of rain were discouraging but we set out to hike and were rewarded with the great view that Gray Rock rewards you with when you hit the end of the trail.  We sat and enjoyed the views as we chatted and enjoyed the playful visit of small bird.

And we were also caught in the midst of a marriage proposal.  We noticed roses along the trail just before and onto Gray Rock and knew a proposal had or was going to take place.  The cheering and applause behind us as we sat chatting confirmed our suspicions, the bride-to-be said "YES".

We eventually headed back to our starting point and 2-3 hours after we set out on our hike we were having lunch.

Another Weekend

The end of another work week or as I like to refer to it as, another "job" week has come to an end very quietly and what a good week it was.  Had enough "Job" stuff to do keep me busy yet allow me freedom to leave the office an get some fresh air the last few days of the week and for that I am appreciative and thankful.

and today's visiting Tarot card is XIII Death where endings should be seen as beginnings.One phase of life is giving way to another.  Yes, this I see as right on the mark.  This past week has taught me a lot about myself and yesterday, especially yesterday I really understood the importance of Spirit in my life and where focus on Spirit rather than the physical allowed my mind to sharp and focused and a knowing that just is and does not need to be questioned or clarified.  Spirit is Great!

What a Great Night's Sleep

I slept right through the night and awoke refreshed and ready to go an hour before the alarm was set to go off.  I did my usual morning routine and then worked with Tarot.  Today's visiting Tarot card jumped from the deck as I was shuffling, determined to be noticed.  Today's card is "XVI Revelation, uncomfortable and upsetting truths may come out and/or new directions may prove to unsettling and/or upsetting to some.  Hhhmmm. . .

Will need to sit on this and see where the day goes. . .

Spirit oh Great Spirit

I've been happily reading my book Gay Witchcraft over the past week and have learned a lot as well developed a stronger connection with Spirit because this book seems to speak my language, speaks directly to me and all that I am.

7 of Cups

Slept well last night but awoke early, early as in 4:45am struggled to sleep but gave up and crawled out of bed at 4:57am and got on with the day.

Today's visiting Tarot card is the 7 of Cups and I'm either contemplating and mulling things over that may be good or I'm stuck too much in thought when I should be acting.  I think action is what is needed these days.  I need to act, to be proactive and get on with it.  Whatever "it" may be.

Spirit is real.  Spirit is Alive.  Spirit is always with us.

2 of Swords

Today's visiting card the 2 of Swords has left me perplexed as it can be taken one, two, or even perhaps three ways.  Do I need to close my eyes and meditate, am I closing my eyes to the reality staring me right in the face or is it both?

I'm taking it as both the need to meditate and to open my eyes and see the reality that is before me.  When this allows me to see and deal with the reality that perhaps I do not want to see of face in this moment.  But it is not so bad.  I know I need to make changes and I know I need to forever strive keep strong in spirit and faith in order to make changes and live my dreams and achieve my goals.  This is a good thing.  Spirit is real.  Spirit is alive.  Spirit is!

Tired But I'll Write Something Anyway

I'm very sleepy today.   I was surprised that I had a terrible night's sleep after all of the activity yesterday.  We hiked about 80 minutes going to and from the beach, spent a couple of hours relaxing at the beach and had a nice dinner out at Slickity Jim's before heading home.

I could not stay asleep and nothing was on my mind, it was a complete blank.  Maybe that was the problem.  I went to bed very relaxed and tired and fell asleep quickly but awoke like what seemed to be every couple of minutes until I pulled myself out of bed just before 6:00am.  I struggled to stay in bed until then.  I thought the alarm would wake me this morning.

I'll keep my eyes open as best I can, toothpicks (Clockwork Orange anyone?) might be needed but heck at least my eyes will be open.

The weekend was a good one and surprisingly quite relaxing.  We did a bit of shopping and mall hopping as well as quickly walking through both the Show and Shine in New Westminster and the Surrey Pride Festival in Surrey on Sunday before a mid afternoon jaunt to the beach.

Where does time go?

Over a week has passed since I last wrote here and I find myself wondering where all the time of this past week has gone?

My partner and I spent last weekend down in the Seattle area being weekend tourists in one of our favourite US cities.

During our visit to the Capitol Hill neighbourhood I discovered an amazing bookstore Edge of the Circle Books and walked out of their with a lighter wallet as I found a few items I could not do without: a book, a candle, and a t-shirt.
